About Us

Sierra Lobo offers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  Sierra Lobo was founded in 1993 by engineers who worked together for a large engineering firm on a contract at NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, OH.

When that firm elected not to bid upon Plum Brook’s Test Site Operations Contract, they realized that their dream to build their own engineering company could become a reality.

The founders filed incorporation papers in 1993 in the name of Sierra Lobo, which means “mountain wolf” in Spanish.  The name celebrates the heritage of President George A. Satornino, and exemplifies the spirit of the company they wanted to build.  The wolf symbolizes freedom, the spirit of nature, resourcefulness, and adaptability even under the most dire circumstances

The founders formed the company to emphasize these innovative qualities.
